Seton Teaching Fellows

Teach

You'll teach, sure. But,
also you will tie a lot of shoes.

Like, really though—a lot of shoes will be tied. You’ll teach
in the formal sense of the word, but even more by your
example. Parents often tell us their children feel the love
of Fellows because as a missionary, you are more present
than most teachers can be. In one year, you’ll gain a skill set
in teaching and presence that will serve you for the rest of
your life—even if your next role is outside of education.

Development

Most Fellows arrive with no formal teaching
experience. That’s the point. As long as you’re
open to grow, you’ll thrive. With daily coaching,
professional seminars, and real classroom
practice, you’ll grow more in one year than many
do in five. No matter where you go afterward,
you’ll leave as a more confident, capable, and
resilient professional.

Our Schools

Our Fellows are placed at our Seton Education Partners schools:

Our Charter Schools:

  • Brillante Academy (Mission, TX)
  • Brilla Schools (The Bronx, NY)

Our Catholic Schools:

  • Romero Academies (Cincinnati, OH)

New This Year:

  • Seton at Little Flower (San Antonio, TX)
    • We are piloting a community of Fellows at Little Flower Catholic School in San Antonio, TX. This opportunity to expand Seton roots Fellows in a new community while to providing them with a strong school-based mission experience.

At our charter schools, we offer an optional faith-based after-school program where Fellows teach Catechism. At our Catholic schools, Fellows teach the same catechetical content during the school day. We provide the curriculum so you can focus your time on preparing to teach it.

How We
Educate

All of our schools our financially sustainable once start-up dollars are raised, and they feature three main design elements that set them apart from other schools.

Why did you become a Fellow? Evangelization can come in many forms, from leading a Bible study to inviting students to play hacky sack after Mass. The variety of ways there are to spread the Gospel is something that really excites me! Seton Teaching Fellows are in a position to encounter children and families in a very direct and intentional way. In addition to serving as role models for these kids, the fellows are given the special opportunity to teach the kids about God’s amazing creation. There is so much potential to spread God’s Love through teaching!
