What To Expect

“Being a Fellow is a lot like skydiving. First, you're hurtling through the air with no sense of up. Then your parachute opens. Everything slows down, and you realize you can see so much more than you ever could with your feet safely on the ground."

Cecilia Alvarez,
Current Fellow

Ok, yeah, there'll be a lot of different emotions.

Some days you’ll feel on top of the world—like you’re actually changing lives. Other days you’ll be tired, homesick, or just wondering what you got yourself into. But through it all, you’ll grow in ways you didn’t see coming, and that’s what makes the year truly unforgettable.

What your day
could be like:

No one’s schedule is exactly the same, and some days are different than others, but everyone does a bit of teaching, tutoring, praying, and living throughout the day.

Want a more detailed schedule?

What one day looks like:

6 am

Alarm #1 Goes Off

You'll only need to set one alarm once you're using our habit-building tools.

7 am

Mass

Every Fellow has part of their day blocked off to attend mass nearby.

8 am

Arrive at School

Greet little scholars, doing a reading small-group, make a coffee...

8:02 am

Tie 14 shoes

Who knows how their shoes got untied so quickly, but this is the life of a Fellow.

APRIL
He is Risen!
Celebrate Easter and spend time with Family.
MAY
The Sacraments!
The children you teach will receive the Sacraments!! This is THE highlight of your entire mission year.
JUNE
Goodbyes!
It's bittersweet. You'll miss your community and the children you spent the last year with, but you'll also leave more prepared for your vocation.

You will play a key role role in
the conversion of famillies.

Yes, you’ll teach in the classroom and share your faith with
children—but the impact goes far beyond that. As a missionary
presence in our schools, you’ll touch entire families. Most
Fellows even become Godparents to the children they’ve
walked alongside, building bonds that last a lifetime.

after their fellowship year, while others head to medical school,
get married (in five instances, to another Fellow❤️),
enter religious life, or become priests.
